Top Five Cheap Flight Destinations

January 6th, 2010 by Admin No comments »

At the moment, it’s easy to see how some people would be worried about vacation costs this year. Travel is too expensive for many people because of the economy and threats of layoffs. However, there are still cheap travel destinations if you are willing to do your homework. The bulk of your vacation cost will probably go towards your flight and your hotel stay. So, finding a cheap flight and taking advantage of other options can greatly reduce the cost of your vacation. Here are the top five cheap flight destinations that you should consider:
New York City and Other Big Cities
You can often find cheap flights to New York City and other big cities because they are home to large airports. When you fly into a large airport, you have more airline options, which can lower the price. Big cities can be a lot of fun, but are not usually high on the list for tourist destinations, since people are more likely to want to head to the beach or mountains for vacation. As an added bonus, that means that other activities in the cities are also less expensive. Most big cities even have government-sponsored museums, parks, and zoos which are free or under $10 for admission.
Florida or Southern California
The price of your flight often depends on your point of origin. One thing that is almost always a sure bet, though, is that it will typically be cheaper to stay in the United States than to travel abroad. If you live in the eastern half of the country, Florida is a natural choice. You can find flights into Orlando and Miami for just $100 to $200 if you are leaving from a larger northern airport. In the west, southern California is a great destination for the same reason. If you live in the center of the United States, check both Florida and California prices. Also, don’t forget that visiting the gulf of Texas is also an option.
Canada
If you absolutely just want to experience a different country, Canada is a great option. Staying near the United States and not having to cross an ocean helps keep the price of the flight down as low as possible. Canada is also not a huge tourism center, so prices for flights are naturally lower than, for example, Hawaii. Keep in mind that travelling can still get pricey once you arrive at your destination with the current exchange rate, so budget accordingly. However, with the money you’ll save on a flight, it could be worth it. You won’t find warm, sunny beaches in Canada, but you will find some great wilderness resorts, and there are a number of cities that are fun to visit, such as Toronto.
The Caribbean
Believe it or not, the prices for plane tickets to the Caribbean are actually fairly affordable. Although this is a tourist hotspot, the sheer number of flights going into and out of these airports drives the price down. When you work with your travel agent, you can also often get a lower price because they get discounts for selling a certain number of flights on one airline – and flights are easy to book to the Caribbean. There aren’t as many tourists flying to, for example, Italy on the other hand, so they aren’t likely to get a discount on that airline. You can save even more money in general by choosing to fly to Puerto Rico, since it is still a territory of the United States.
Mexico
Some vacationers have been shying away from Mexico recently. However, if you stick to tourist hot spots and use a little discretion, you can be very safe in this country. Flights into Mexico are inexpensive for the same reasons that flights into Canada are inexpensive, you are staying near the United States and you don’t have to cross an ocean. You’ll still pay more for a flight to Mexico than most domestic flights, but if you shop around for good deals, you should be able to travel fairly inexpensively.
Flying will always be expensive, no matter how much price comparison you do to different destinations. There are a few things you can do to keep the price as low as possible, wherever your destination may be. First, be flexible with your dates. Flights are usually more expensive on weekend and near holidays. You can also add more layovers to your flight or take nighttime flights to save money. Finally, when you book your flight, try not to plan activities that you have to rush to as soon as you land. That way, if there is an overbooking problem, you can volunteer to take a later flight. If you do that, most airlines will refund your ticket and give you an additional free flight to use in the future.

Travel Insurance – is it Necessary or Required?

January 6th, 2010 by Admin No comments »

Many people will ask if Travel Insurance is necessary or required at all. Like all types of insurance, Travel Insurance too requires a premium to be paid, and many families and individuals are averse to paying a premium for this insurance. Most families, couples, and individuals who travel at least once a year for annual holidays or several times a year on short trips of a few days, or even day trips, are unaware of the fact that opting for Cheap Travel Insurance is a safeguard and risk management against a loss during travel. Many people who travel extensively for business, or travel writers who travel extensively, are aware of travel insurance and make appropriate arrangements for insurance, but the majority of citizens are unaware of the necessity for Travel Insurance, or just what it means. Travel Insurance basically covers medical expenses incurred during travel, insurance against financial losses such as nonrefundable pre-payments, and many other losses that a family or individual may incur while travelling, either within the country, or even internationally. This does not mean that a family or individual has to pay a heavy fee or premium for this insurance. There are Cheap Travel Insurance options available from many insurance firms, according to requirement. The necessity and requirement for Travel Insurance is the same as for other types of insurance like Life Insurance, Car Insurance, Property insurance, etc. The basic principle of opting for insurance is safeguarding against loss. Take for instance Car Insurance; if your car is damaged due to an accident or floods, or any other reason covered in your car insurance policy, the insurance company pays for the repairs. The same principle applies for Travel Insurance. But the types of losses an individual or family could face while travelling is the most common question that arises. There are many risks and situations where losses could be incurred while travelling and the most common risks are medical expenses incurred if an individual or family member is sick or injured during travel, emergency evacuation or repatriation due to conflicts in the country visited, overseas funeral expenses in case of death, accidental death, injury, or disablement benefits, cancellation of flights or other paid for transport, cancelled hotel bookings, etc. An individual or family can opt for Cheap Travel Insurance packages and select a package, which covers the risks that they think need to be covered, which in turn decides the premium to be paid for the insurance. There are many insurance companies that offer numerous, comprehensive, Travel Insurance packages, but they also offer Cheap Travel Insurance packages according to client requirements, and every individual and family planning on a holiday or a short trip should make adequate arrangements for proper insurance. It is better to be cautious and safe with insurance, than to be sorry for not opting for insurance and having to bear a financial loss in case of cancellations, delays, medical emergencies, etc. Resource BoxFor more information on Travel Insurance or Cheap Travel Insurance Packages, please do visit our site or write to us.

Travel Insurance – Types of Insurance Packages Available

Over the years, insurance companies have designed and introduced many Travel Insurance packages according to the requirements of an individual, family, or group. Arrangements for Cheap Travel Insurance can be made at the time of booking a trip to cover just the duration of the trip, or a more extensive and comprehensive insurance can be purchased from Travel Insurance companies, travel agents or directly from cruise lines and tour operators. Whatever source you purchase the insurance from, you have to be careful and understand properly what is covered or not covered in the policy, as some travel insurance packages purchased from cruise lines and travel operators are less inclusive of risks than the insurance packages provided by insurance companies. Travel insurance packages offer coverage for student travels, business related travel, leisure and holiday travel, adventure travels, cruise travels, and also international travel. Travel Insurance covers many risks associated with travelling and the premium charged depends on many factors like, whether the insurance is for an individual, family, or group, and the destination and duration of the travel, etc. Insurance companies, travel agents, and tour operators provide Cheap Travel Insurance packages for a Single trip return journey, or a package for multiple trips in a year. The Single trip return journey Travel Insurance package can provide insurance cover for an individual, family or group, and the premium depends on the duration of the travel, the destination or country travelled to, and the risks that need to be covered. Most of these insurance packages offer free insurance for children travelling with adults and cover many of the risks involved in travelling within the country or internationally to another country. Even the Cheap Travel Insurance packages for Single trip return journeys will cover the most basic risks like Medical expenses incurred during travelling, loss or theft of baggage, loss or theft of travel documents, baggage delays or baggage misplaced, cancellations or cutting short a trip due to sickness or injury, etc. This insurance package is good for those individuals who travel once or twice a year or occasionally, and for families planning for a short or long holiday within the country, and especially when traveling to another country. But a businessman, or an individual who travels extensively, with multiple trips within the country and internationally, this Single trip return journey package is not cost effective and is time consuming as it has to be arranged for every trip within or outside the country. The comprehensive Multi trip Annual package is the answer to a regular travellers requirement for Travel Insurance. There are many other Cheap Travel Insurance packages for short-term trips, like Ski-trip insurance packages, budget backpacker insurance packages, motorcycle travel insurance for those wanting to tour countries on their motorcycles, and insurance for Senior travelers.
